Addiction Treatment
We are now offering SUBOXONE (Buprenorphine) treatment of Opioid Addiction.

This medical breakthrough in addiction management blocks the effect of other narcotics while preventing withdrawal.   This is accoomplished by an "agonist/antagonist" type of interaction with the opioid receptors in the brain.

Patients initiating this treatment must be in mild to moderate narcotic withdrawal and must abstain for 24-48 hrs for short acting opioids (Vicodin, Percocet, Oxycontin) and 48-96 hrs for longer acting opioids like Methadone.  Additionally, Methadone patients must taper down to 30mg or less for at least a week prior to prevent a "precipitated withdrawal" effect.  This treatment leaves patients feeling "normal" and not "doped up" and allows them to lead a normal life.  Patients can eventually taper off of this medication if they chose to.

Patients interested in this must make an appointment with Dr. Chipman on a Monday morning.

We currently don't accept insurance for this treatment but you can submit the bills to your insurance.

Patients must undergo an "induction" in the office where the dose is titrated.  This takes a couple hours and the cost is $500.  They come back the next day for a recheck and further dose adjustment (no extra charge).  Follow up visits are $150 and are weekly until the patient is stabilized and then may be spread out to monthly visits at the discrection of the physician.
